The PrintWeek Awards are one of the biggest events in the printing industry’s calendar with over 1,000 guests attending from print buying and print production.  The gala dinner and awards presentation took place on Monday 17th October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.  The host for the evening was English writer, broadcaster, actor and former Conservative Member of Parliament, Gyles Brandreth. The Trainee of the Year award was one of over 20 to be presented.

Jack was nominated by The Folkestone Academy and British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), his learner provider for his apprenticeship, and was shortlisted along with two other finalists. Although he did not win the overall award he was given Highly Commended praise from the judges and was called up on stage to join Gyles Brandreth and the winner of the award, Samuel Jackson from We Do Print. He also received a £500 training bursary from sponsor Heidelberg. Jack comments: “It was an amazing experience to be celebrated by the industry and I’d like to thank Heidelberg for the bursary”.
