Life at The Glassworks

At The Glassworks Sixth Form Centre students can study in an independent and relaxed environment. Each student is viewed as a rounded individual who can achieve not just in studies but in every aspect of life. Because of this we seek to provide opportunities for you to take responsibility, demonstrate leadership and make an impact on the world around you. We encourage volunteering through a number of different programmes: paired reading, mentoring or community efforts. In the past Sixth Form students have stewarded at music events, helped out in local charity shops and helped fundraise through a number of different sporting events and car washing activities. You may also wish to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award scheme which culminates in a 5-day expedition in North Wales.

Day-to-day life at the Glassworks is relaxed and focused. Our facilities and resources mean that you have every opportunity to study, socialise, and relax. Whether you’re using our Student Resource Centre to get ahead in your work or catching up with friends in our café, it is all part of the experience of being a student at The Glassworks. Our position in the heart of Folkestone means that you’re only a few steps from the new Payers Park area, the bustling Old High Street, the Folkestone Harbour and all of the regeneration that comes with it.

We hope that your time studying with us will be productive and enjoyable, give you the opportunity to meet new people, try new things, and gain new skills. Most importantly, we hope that your time with us gives you what you need to succeed in your long term plans.
