Any industrial process is about converting inputs into outputs. Education is similar, but the process is more complex. The inputs (otherwise known as children) are complicated, and are never the same two days running. It requires skill and resilience to achieve the desired output.

We think we’re managing this process pretty well. Last year, the value we added to our students’ education was ranked in the 1st percentile nationally, and we aim to stay there.

That said, the job is not without its challenges. We serve one of the most deprived areas of England, and we are a non-selective school in an area where there is selective education.

Because the challenge is greater, we need candidates with an outstanding skill set to change young lives.
