We think that teachers have an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people – to combine creativity and intellectual challenge to ensure all students fulfil their potential. We think that good teachers have the power to engender in students a passion for learning which they will carry with them into further education or employment.

You might think this is a cliché, but if you think back to your pre-university years, the person who is likely to have had the greatest influence on you, second only to your parents, will be a teacher. That is why this is a hugely satisfying career choice.

Undoubtedly, teachers carry huge responsibility – after all, you are partly responsible for the emotional, social, and intellectual development of every child, and not necessarily just the ones you teach. Every day, you will have hundreds of interactions with young people, some of which will have a profound influence on their development. We think what you say, and do, matters.

We’re looking for people who think like us.
