PE Plan

The government has continued its commitment to promoting PE in primary schools and our school has received funding. Last year we achieved some great things in PE, including representing the Shepway district at county level in two different sports. We took part in 24 different competitions including new sports such as handball and lacrosse.

Again, we will investing part of our grant into the Shepway School Games, which now works in partnership with Roger De Haan's Shepway Sports Trust. This will allow qualified coaches to come into school and give lots of opportunities for children to take part in inter schools competitions, with again the possibility of representing Shepway at County level.  This year there will also be the addition of a league system for four keys sports: hockey, rugby, basketball and cricket. This will improve the link between local clubs and schools, making it easier for children to join local clubs. We will also be investing the money to develop further our: PE curriculum, assessment, children's leadership skills, participation in extracurricular activities and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Please see our detailed aims below.
