Academic rigour
- Folkestone Academy aims to stretch pupils of all abilities;
- a quick stream for the most able pupils will lead to early GCSE certification in some subjects including French and ICT, and early study of AS courses;
- highly structured exchange visits support early competence in French, and the most able pupils will be taught humanities, food and drama in the French language. Spanish is an option from Year 9;
- a strong curriculum in maths and science prepares pupils both for university places and for local business needs;
- pupils are regularly assessed across their subjects, and parents are kept informed of their progress.
